Thursday, Oct. 11

  • 2:02 p.m. A caller at Hannaford's Plaza reported a stolen 24-inch Schwinn girls' bicycle. Police were able to identify a suspect from security footage and checked the suspect's residence, but said no one was home at the time. Police issued a summons to a male juvenile for larceny of the bicycle. Steven P. Gaulin, 44, of 56 River St., Beverly, was then arrested for trespassing on railroad tracks. It was unclear if the arrest was related at all to the bike theft.
  • 3:30 p.m. A Lynnfield Street resident reported his car was stolen.
  • 5:04 p.m. Police said a person found a thumb drive on the ground outside Walgreens on Route 114 and reported it had pornographic material on it. Police checked the drive and said it did not contain any illegal material, however, and attempted to contact the rightful owner to see if he wanted his drive back.
  • 6:30 p.m. A caller reported a possibly intoxicated person on a bicycle kept falling off his bike into oncoming traffic near the Dunkin' Donuts on Washington Street. Police checked the area, but did not locate anyone.

  • 8:12 p.m. An employee reported two males had a physical altercation inside the Starbucks on Route 114 and then both left. The incident was captured on security camera footage. Police spoke with both men who said it was a disagreement over a buisness arrangement.
  • 8:17 p.m. An officer reported he was at the mall outreach center when he received a report of a group of juveniles causing a disturbance in front of Sears and another group in the Food Court. He said he dispersed the group gathering at Sears and spoke to a male at the Food Court who was refusing to deflate his blow-up doll as mall security had requested of the male.
  • 11:28 p.m. Paul E. English, 25, of 5 Cherry St. #2C, Danvers, was arrested, following a motor vehicle stop on Lowell Street near the Hess gas station. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to stop or yield and failure to signal.

  • 1:08 a.m. Edward R. Silva, of 39 Quigley Ave., North Chelmsford, was arrested, following a motor vehicle stop on Route 1. He was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, possession of a Class B drug and a marked lanes violation.
  • 9 a.m. The school resource officer at the high school reported he was out with three students at the corner of Lowell and Baldwin streets. He reported one person had dropped out of school, one had been suspended from the school and the third was transported to the school where he belonged. The officer was able to recover some property stolen from Hannaford's the day before and the suspect was taken back to the high school.
  • 9:58 a.m. Police, investigating reports of a homeless camp downtown behind Howley Street, arrested 10 -- eight men and two women -- for trespassing. Police said none of the group was actually living there, but just appeared to be hanging out at the supposed encampment near the railroad tracks on Howley Street. Thomas E.
