UPDATED: Brush Fire in South Peabody

According to Peabody Firefighters, fire crews were released from the brush fire at about 5:45 p.m. Monday. 

Peabody Fire sent in five fire engine companies to battle the fire on Monday morning. The Massachusetts Forestry Department assisted firefighters. 

There were no injuries.

The dry conditions have whipped up a brush fire in South Peabody near Cedar Grove Avenue.

The first call for a brush fire came about 8 p.m. Sunday night for an “extensive brush fire,” according to the Peabody Firefighters Twitter page.

Fire crews worked for about three hours on the brush fire on Sunday night. Peabody Firefighters reported that the smoke was still visible from the woods off Lynn Street this morning and fire crews were back at the scene this morning.
