Baby Taken to Hospital After Spill From Carriage

The following information was provided by the Peabody Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following excerpts are from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from Nov. 18-19.

Monday, Nov. 18

  • 12:51 a.m. Gabriel Mora, 30, of 123 Bridge St., Salem, was arrested, following a motor vehicle stop in Peabody Square. An officer reported the vehicle and the driver (Mora) were wanted on assault and battery charges by Danvers police. Mora was than taken into custody by Danvers officers.
  • 8:59 a.m. Report of a two-car accident at the corner of Lowell Street and Columbus Road. Both vehicles were towed and a Saugus woman was taken to Lahey Medical Center, Peabody.
  • 2:10 p.m. A 14-year-old was issued a court summons on a charge of assault and battery for an incident at Higgins Middle School.
  • 2:17 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop on Foster Street and reported confiscating and destroying a small amount of drugs.
  • 3:44 p.m. Annemarie Fischer, 27, of 11 Savoy Rd., South Hamilton, was arrested, following a report of an intoxicated female shoplifter at Sears. She was charged with shoplifting by asportation and issued a no trespassing order on the mall property for five years.
  • 7:21 p.m. A caller reported a car hit a deer at the intersection of Lowell and Goodale streets. The caller said the wounded animal had two broken back legs and dragged itself behind a house near Route 1 on Lowell Street heading west. Police checked the area, but didn't find the deer.

Tuesday, Nov. 19

  • 6:20 a.m. A caller reported there wires and branches knocked down along the length of Joy Road. DPS was notified and utility crews responded to the scene as well. The caller said the wires and branches were knocked down by a tractor-trailer going down the street.
  • 7:11 a.m. A caller reported an impaired female driver just left the methadone clinic on Route 1. Police checked the area, but didn't find the vehicle.
  • 9:27 a.m. A caller on Lynn Street said his car was vandalized while parked outside. Paint remover was thrown on the vehicle and a license plate was also stolen.
  • 9:52 a.m. Nelson Brizzi, 51, of 96 Margin St., Peabody, was arrested, following a motor vehicle stop on Main Street. He was charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to display the vehicle owner's name.
  • 1:05 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop at the corner of Lynnfield Street and Whitney Drive and reported confiscating and destroying a small amount of drugs.
  • 3:35 p.m. Report of a two-car accident at Bishop Fenwick High School. One driver was taken to Beverly Hospital and the second driver was cited for tailgating and failure to use care in stopping and starting.
  • 7:01 p.m. Request for medical aid at Burlington Coat Factory where an infant fell to the floor from a car seat that was in a carriage. The baby was conscious and alert, but still transported by ambulance to North Shore Children's Hospital.
  • 8:13 p.m. A customer at The Jade believed his credit card was stolen by someone who just left the area. The suspect was described as a white male wearing a blue sweatshirt. The male fled the area without paying his bill and the victim's credit card went missing at the same time.
  • 8:53 p.m. A caller reported a man in Macy's was having a heated phone conversation. She believed the man made threats to kill the person on the other end of the phone. The man was last seen in the store's jewelry department and was described as an Arab male wearing a blue shirt and gray shorts.
  • 9:07 p.m. A caller reported an erratic operator in a red Toyota Corolla on Aborn Street. The caller said the car was swerving all over the road and almost hit another vehicle head-on. Police located the car behind a residence, but it was unoccupied.
  • 9:44 p.m. Sean M. Therrien, 32,of 108 Goodale St., Peabody, was arrested, following a report of an erratic operator on Goodale Street. The caller said a Mazda SUV with a headlight out was all over the road. Police located the vehicle in its driveway and took Therrien into custody on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol (second offense).
