Roomful of Blues to play in Peabody

Peabody Cultural Collaborative is pleased to announce that Roomful of Blues will be performing at Peabody City Hall's Wiggin Auditorium on Friday, Oct. 4th at 7:30 pm.    The popular and critically-acclaimed Blues band has a career that spans over 40 years, including worldwide tours and many recorded albums. Roomful of Blues has earned five Grammy nominations and many other accolades, including seven Blues Music Awards.  Known for its signature sound- a combination of jump, swing, blues, R&B, and soul - and its stellar horn section, Roomful of Blues delivers an exciting, up-tempo evening of music.

Opening act for Roomful of Blues will be members of the Peabody Veterans Memorial High School Jazz Band, an exceptional opportunity for local young musicians to be on the same bill with this prestigious Blues band. Doors open at 7 p.m.

In 2010, a group of interested parties got together and began forming the Peabody Cultural Collaborative, an organization that aims to unite arts and cultural organizations in greater Peabody.  The Collaborative’s mission is to cross-promote existing activities and events, as well as identify new opportunities that will bring more people to Peabody. The PCC’s goal is to have a vibrant community where arts and culture flourish and connect citizens to various offerings.
