What Can the MA Health Connector do for You?

The MA Health Connector is the same as the insurance 'exchanges' that became available in other states this month as part of the Affordable Care Act.

The Massachusetts Health Connector offers health and dental insurance plans from the state's leading insurers - and provide tools that make is easier to compare plans.  It's a great way to find the right plan for you, your family, or your small business.

The Health Connector's plans are grouped in tiers to make it easier for shoppers to compare:

Platinum have the highest premiums but the lowest co-pays and deductibles.
Gold & Silver plans have lower premiums but higher co-pays and deductibles.
Bronze plans have the lowest premiums but the highest co-pays and deductibles.

Each plan has different doctors, hospitals, and other providers in its network, but the Health Connector's website allows you to easily look up the doctors, hospitals or providers you want and compare plans.

For the first time, the Health Connector is also offering dental coverage! Individuals, families and small businesses can choose from a wide variety of dental plans sponsored by leading dental insurance companies.

You may even qualify for help paying for insurance if your income and household meet certain criteria, i.e.  if you are single and make less than $46,000 annually or a family of 4 with an income of $94,000 annually.

If you are a small business owner, the Health Connector can provide a tax credit for up to 50% of health insurance premiums and a Wellness Rebate for 15% of health insurance premiums.    You can contact the Health Connector directly at www.MAhealthconnector.org or work directly through your insurance broker.

If you would like a referral to a local insurance broker, contact the Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce at 978-531-0384.
