It's Good to Give

Small business owners often play a key role in their local communities, and giving back-by volunteering time or donating money to worthy causes-is something most owners are eager to do. Philanthropy provides a host of ways for small business owners to do good things, both for the community and for themselves.

Networking Before Nine is a monthly leads referral group offered through the Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce providing business professionals an opportunity to meet, mix and mingle and grow their business through building relationships.    This month we focused on our members who are non-profit organizations to foster a better understanding of their missions and who they serve, promote cooperation with the business community as a resource, volunteer opportunities and discover needs for charitable giving.

Participants included:    American Red Cross of Northeast Massachusetts Citizens for Adequate Housing, Eliot Community Human Services, Peabody Education Foundation, Haven from Hunger, Making a Difference in Peabody North Shore Community Action Program, Northeast ARC, and North Suburban Jewish Community Center.

Although giving is top of mind during the holiday season, these organizations can benefit from your support throughout the year.  If you are looking to get involved or find out how you can help, contact the Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce at 978-531-0384.
