LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Former Marine Says Tisei Will Fight for Veterans Rights

Former marine and small business owner John Kimball says he supports Richard Tisei and is confident he will fight for veterans rights in Congress.

I am writing this letter to express my support for former State Senator Richard Tisei in his campaign against Representative John Tierney for our congressional seat. I am a former Marine Officer and a small business owner and I am more than confident that Richard stands for veterans.

Our veterans face many issues which are uncommon for our average citizens. Unemployment rates for veterans are above the national average. Many of our veterans are returning from war with horrific physical and mental injuries and they face huge uphill battles.

Personally, the most frustrating challenge is many of our active duty members and their families live below the poverty line and routinely rely on food stamps and other government programs just to get by. We should not be treating our veterans this way, our country should be doing better than this. If we cannot ensure that our veterans earn enough money to live then how can we send [them] away from their families to fight for our freedom?

The right answer is to elect someone who will fight for veterans rights in Congress. I know that Richard is the right candidate for the job because he truly cares about our veterans and he will do everything he can to help us. Richard will support proper pay for our veterans and also help those veterans returning home active service by facilitating job opportunities. He will also ensure that our veterans who suffer from injuries receive proper medical care.

No doubt, Richard is the right the choice this November. A vote for Richard is a vote for our veterans.
