Today is Friday, Dec. 30. Here are five things to know today in Peabody.

1. Today's weather: The National Weather Service predicts mostly cloudy skies today with a high near 43 degrees and a calm southerly wind.
2. Funeral for Firefighter James Rice: You can find the up-to-date route for this morning's -- are expected to join on foot from Peabody Square to the church. The service begins at 10 a.m. and the procession is expected to start around 9 a.m.
3. The Peabody police say they will be posting photos and video to their social media accounts today from this morning's ceremony on behalf of the fire and police departments, emergency services and the city. You can find images from yesterday's wake on the Peabody police Facebook page and Twitter feed.
4. City Hall: is closed for business today and Monday for the holiday weekend, although the building will remain open today for firefighters, their families and other dignitaries attending the funeral for James Rice.
5. Highway billboard: Clear Channel Outdoor has donated a billboard to honor fallen Peabody Firefighter James Rice as well. The sign is located off I-95 South at the Route 1 South on-ramp -- just look to your right at Exit 46 off I-95.
