Obituary: Joseph F. Sullivan, Peabody Letter Carrier

Joseph F. Sullivan, 71, died unexpectedly on Saturday June 7, 2014 at the Meadowview-Genesis Healthcare Facility in North Reading, following a lengthy illness.
    
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Michael B. and Cecelia D. (Lynch) Sullivan. He grew up in Peabody where he attended schools and graduated from Peabody High School.
    
Mr. Sullivan proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and was stationed in Hawaii.
    
He worked as a Letter Carrier with the U.S. Postal Service in Peabody.
    
Joe enjoyed driving, he loved the Boston Red Sox, and having social gatherings dining out at various places.
    
He is survived by two sisters, Mary Mulherin & her husband Thomas and Patricia Barteaux & her husband Alan both of Peabody; a nephew Kevin Mulherin of Peabody and two nieces Audrey Marble and Brenda McFeeters both of Beverly, and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was also preceded in death, besides his parents, by a brother Edward Sullivan.
    
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Thursday June 12, 2014 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., followed by a Funeral Ceremony at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
