Obituary: Eric C. Poto, 41, Teacher

Obituary from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home:

Eric C. Poto, 41, of Peabody, died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, May 18, 2014. He was born in Lynn, MA on June 18, 1972, the son of Anthony and Marie (Vella) Poto and was raised and educated in Salem graduating from Salem High School. He later graduated from Salem State University and received his masters from George Mason University in Virginia. 

He had been a teacher in computer science, first in Virginia and for the past nine years with the City of Everett school system. He had resided in Peabody for the past five years. 

Eric was a very artistic and talented musician and had earned a college scholarship and loved to play music on his keyboard. He enjoyed traveling and was an ardent sports fan of the New England Patriots, the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Bruins.    

He is survived by his parents of Salem, his two brothers, Michael and his wife Nataliya Poto of Lowell and David Poto of Oswego, IL, a sister and brother-in-law,  Rita and Jack Durgin of Danvers, six nieces and nephews and many aunts, uncles and cousins.  

A Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody, facility. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Lynn St., Peabody at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. 

Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN39105 in his memory.
