Obituary: Donald A. Mac Pherson, Jr., 61, Lifelong Peabody Resident

Donald A. Mac Pherson, Jr., 61, died peacefully on Saturday evening July 19, 2014 at the Brentwood Healthcare Facility in Danvers, following an extended illness.
    
Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Donald A. and Mary (Mendonca) MacPherson, Sr. He graduated from Peabody Vocational High School and was a lifelong resident of the city.
    
Mr. MacPherson worked in a leather shop, and mostly was a Cab Driver with North Shore Taxi of Peabody.  
    
Don was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed baseball, football and basketball and was very athletic in his younger days. He liked playing cards, and was a good cook as family and friends liked his special sauces.
  
He is survived by his sons and daughter, Shawn Capozzi of Salem, Derek Capozzi of Florence, CO, and Tasha & her husband Robert Oliver of Peabody;  two grandchildren, Lucas Oliver and Isabella Capozzi; his brothers & sisters, Richard & his wife Marie MacPherson of Peabody, Edward MacPherson of Portsmouth, NH, David & his wife Pamela MacPherson of Malden, Janice DeMerchant of Peabody, Kathleen & her husband William Madden of Peabody, Cheryl & her husband Stephen Woods of Peabody, and Patricia & her husband Tom Blake of Peabody;  two generations of nieces and nephews, and many friends around the North Shore.
    
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Wednesday July 23, 2014 at 10 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
