ArcWorks Community Art Center is looking for traditional artists! Please read on for more info!

We are having a group art show next month down in Charlestown and I wanted to make sure that everyone who might be interested in participating has the opportunity to submit work!

We are looking for classic Yankee crafts and welcome a modern twist in your work and encourage Massachusetts-based artisans and craftspeople to submit their creations.

Theme— Are you an artist who considers themselves a “keeper of tradition” and makes work using time-honored techniques? We are looking for classic Yankee crafts and welcome a modern twist in your work and encourage Massachusetts-based artisans and craftspeople to submit their creations.

This includes:

Caning, Weaving, Baskets, Textiles, Metalsmithing, Quilting, Beadwork, Needle arts, Stone Carving, Ceramics, Leathercrafting, Mechanical Models, Wood, Ship Models, Traditional musical instruments, Traditional Costumes/Masks, Glass, Paper Arts, Quilling, Bookmaking, etc.

Eligibility

Artist must reside in Massachusetts. As part of our mission, we encourage all individuals to participate who wish to create art and display their original work in a safe and judgment free environment. Call for entries are open to 2D and/or 3D methods.  2D work is of high importance. All work must be “original.” No reproductions or copies will be accepted.

All works, where applicable, should be properly framed and delivered READY TO HANG (wire.). Two-dimensional pieces must be framed, wired, and ready to hang.  Three-dimensional pieces must be ready for installation. Unusually fragile pieces must be framed, cased, or have devices attached to insure safe and proper handling.

Right of Refusal

ArcWorks reserves the right to refuse display to any work that does not meet the exhibition requirements.

ArcWorks reserves the right to refuse display of the artwork of artists that fail to deliver a signed copy of the exhibition agreement.

Exhibit Space

ArcWorks is organizing this juried art show to be held at McGladrey Headquarters, located in Charlestown, Massachusetts. McGladrey LLP, the 5th largest US provider of assurance, tax and consulting services, has invited us to exhibit artwork in their gallery at 80 City Square, Charlestown as part of the Northeast Arc's Corporate Partnership initiative.
