Spend Wednesday at the Library

On Wednesday, July 20, the Library has planned a day full of fun events, including reading buddies, lunch on the lawn and some serious drumming.

Wednesday is going to be sunny and 84 degrees out. Instead of heading to the beach on such a lovely summer day, why not head to Peabody’s Main Library (82 Main Street) with your kids instead? We have a fun line-up planned for Wednesdays this summer and this week is going to be especially fun!

Start the day off by bringing your younger children (under 8 is best) to our Book Buddies Club at 11:30 a.m. We have teen volunteers lining up to read with younger kids. Book Buddies are paired up and together select books to read. The result is a sight to see!

At noon, after book buddies, kids and teens can head out to the library lawn for a free lunch.

The whole family will want to stick around after lunch to participate in our awesome Drum to the Beat program with Otha Day at 1 p.m. We've had Otha at the library before and his programs are definitely some of our most fun! He leads great drum circles and lets everyone play with dozens of his percussion instruments.

Reading, eating and drumming sounds like a great way to spend a day to me! I hope we'll see lots of you there.
