Making a Cause worth the Cause!

When you have an idea most of the time you can put into action without a thought. My cause or idea was not or is not so easy, finding a cure for leukemia. I set out over a year ago to help in the fight to finding a cure for leukemia but also to help families that have children fighting cancer. It all started with my own daughter now in remission with leukemia but her fight is very real in everyday even while she is in remission! So, I set my "cause" out on the table, named it Giving Hope Foundation and ran with it, I though everyone in the world would see this as awesome and jump right on board with me. How could they not right? I mean we need a cure for cancer all types of cancer. So, why wouldn't they want to help, little did I realize that there about 100,000 or more non profits in the world and most are driven to do the same thing, help people and help with finding a cure for something!

So, my "cause" isn't uique so I need to make my "cause" worth the cause  for people! How does one do it without feeling defeat at times and wanting to throw in the towel. I spend endless hours researching ideas to raise money, I have tried many some where awesome and well some where not so awesome!  Running an event that no one comes too or running an event and you have more people than you thought! Yup I have experienced both! So, you focus on what it is in people that will make them see this cause and want to be a part of it. Having fun events will bring people together for your cause but they may not really be there for your cause, they may just be there for the fun of the event! That was something that took a while for me to realize and learn. It's not that people don't want to help or don't believe in it but it's your "cause" not theirs and they come for the fun not necessarily for the "cause" that drives you, everyone has a cause that drives them!!

So, I learned that you don't really need an army to believe in your "cause", what you need is for yourself to believe in your "cause", to eat, sleep and live your "cause". At some point it will catch on and at some point people will start to believe in it and find some way to support it. Weather it be the young girl who reached out to me and ask to run a Zumba event, or the young girl scout girls that made cans and collected coins to donate. Either way if you belive in your "cause" eventually others will too and if they don't believe in it they will come for the fun that your cause can bring to them for a day or night .

It takes hours,  money, and many sleepless nights to get a "cause" off the ground, but at some point it will take off slowly but it and it will be the "cause" that you wanted it to be and my "cause" will be what I want it to be!!
