Three More Spelling Bees

One-third of the Higgins Spelling Team has been identified.

The remaining three grade 7 clusters came to the library yesterday and today for a Spelling Bee.

Six Panthers competed: J. Cerrentani, S. Ell, R. Lemole, M. Archibald, K. Hirschaut and K. Spinale.  The two Spelling Bee Team members representing the Panthers are R. Lemole and K. Hirschaut.

The grade 7 Tigers cluster Bee went 22 rounds with 5 consecutive perfect rounds.  The Tigers spellers were: R. Ascolillo, C. Buckley, S. Buckley, T. Cabrera, K. Connolly, A. Sims, H. Martiniello, L. Nadeau, J. Najjar, and C. Ramos. The two top spelling Tigers are; A. Sims and K. Connolly.

It took 13 rounds to identify the top spellers in the grade 7 Bears cluster; they are R. Dunn and C. Okananwa.  The remaining 8 spellers who competed in the Bears' Bee were: N. Bazarian, G. Frongillo, E. Buttiglier, J. Ross, B. Ricker, V. Fortado, A. Pothier, and A, Howarth.

Next week, grade 8 clusters will compete.
