2 Weeks Until Big Bee: Meet the 2012 Higgins Spelling Team

The 3rd Annual Higgins Spelling Bee is Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. at the Northshore Mall.

Excitement is brewing and the countdown is on for the 3rd Annual Higgins Spelling Bee to be held at the Northshore Mall at 7 p.m. on February 27.

Spellers practiced before more than 60 family and friends at the Potluck Practice held in the Cullen Library on January 31. Great food and spelling fun filled the evening.

The team continues to practice on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons in the library and on their own using online resources.

The Higgins 2012 Spelling Team is:

  • Dolphins: Neil Sherman, Brandon Dalton
  • Marlins: Gabe Goldman, Annalise Torres
  • Penguins: Noah Surman, Sydnie LeBlanc
  • Sharks: Izzie Sorpol, Niamh Walsh
  • Stingrays: Alex Chau, Andrew Langley
  • Bears: Rebecca Dunn, Chinma Okananwa
  • Broncos: Jennifer Puzzo, Holly Sherman
  • Lions: Mallory Leblanc, Kelsie Blake
  • Panthers: Ryan Lemole, Koby Hirschaut
  • Tigers: Andee Mae Sims, Kayla Connolly
  • Aquarius: Domenic Logiudice, Linda Whelton
  • Gemini: Ann Sta. Cruz, Ronald Zabala
  • Orion: Ashley Royer, Katarina Bettencourt
  • Pegasus: Kyliah Almeida, Yarissa Lopez
  • Pisces: Stephen May, Isabella Valencia

Members of the Peabody Education Foundation have volunteered to serve as judges at the Bee. They are: Dave Gravel, Jeri Terenzoni, Phil Richard and Steve Shea. Beemasters are Higgins Principal Todd Bucey and PEF member Tom Gould.

Make sure to mark your calendar and join us at the Spelling Bee outside of Burtons Restaurant in the Northshore Mall on Wednesday, February 27 at 7 p.m.
