Hundreds Enjoy Ice Cream While Giving to a Good Cause

Cherry Farm Creamery's fifth annual Ice Cream for Breakfast fundraiser benefited the Colleen Ritzer Scholarship Foundation.

Cherry Farm Creamery in Danvers raised $3,500 for the Colleen Ritzer Scholarship Foundation on Saturday.

The fifth annual Ice Cream for Breakfast fundraiser brought hundreds of people out early Saturday morning. Even before the Conant Street business opened at 8 a.m., there was a long line waiting to partake in the treat and give to the scholarship in remembrance of Ritzer, the Danvers High School teacher and Andover resident.

Many who attended the event had Ritzer as a math teacher, as did many of the shop's employees.

Cherry Farm Creamery posted dozens of photos from the event on its Facebook page. Click on the above photo to see more photos from the event. If you have any problem with the above photo, you can also click on this sentence.

You can also make a donation online or pay check payable to ECCF/Colleen Ritzer Fund and mail to Essex County Community Foundation, 175 Andover St., Danvers, MA 01923. Contact Kathy Moriconi at 978-777-8876 or k.moriconi@eccf.org with any questions about the scholarship.
