  1. The state primary is over and Democrats Joan Lovely and Eileen Duff have emerged as the party candidates in the state Senate and Governor's Councilor races, respectively. Make sure you check out our comprehensive coverage today from the Senate race.
  2. Festival, festival! The  is this Sunday, are you ready for it?  kicks off Saturday and the festival itself runs 11 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Sunday, along with Kids Day and followed by a fortnight of Restaurant Week. But before all that, Tommy Fleming performs at Friday and Saturday night. Check www.peabodyinternationalfestival.com for more details.
  3. The Peabody High Performing Arts Department is holding a bottle and can drive, along with a car wash for $5 this Saturday from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the high school. All proceeds benefit the department. And then on Sunday during the International Festival, there will be a Performing Arts Department booth with popcorn, cotton candy, cold drinks and chocolate covered pretzels for sale.
  4. Wash Away Alzheimer's:  is holding a special "Wash Away Alzheimer's Car Wash" on Saturday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the facility at 96 Forest St. Stop by for a car wash and make a donation. All donations benefit the Alzheimer's Association.
  5. Renovations are complete at the -- it officially re-opened on Tuesday -- and an open house for the community is scheduled for Saturday. A public safety hockey game is planned noon to 2 p.m., figure skating exhibition 2-4 p.m. and family public skating will be 5-8 p.m. There is free admission to all events, but skate rentals are $6.
