Today is Thursday, Sept. 27. Here are five things to know today in Peabody.

  1. Today's weather: Isolated showers early thsi morning, but then clearing up with a high of 67 degrees and some sun.
  2. Essex County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett will be addressing the Peabody Rotary at its weekly gathering today at Red's Kitchen and Tavern at 7:30 a.m.
  3. The Peabody City Council meets tonight at 7:30 p.m. for its regular session, but beforehand the Industrial & Community Development Committee meets at 7 p.m.
  4. Peabody resident William Hunter recently finished first at the Eastern Mass. Bridge Association (EMBA) Sectional tournament. He also won the Swiss Teams at the Summer Sectional tournament. For more information on the EMBA visit www.acblemba.org.
