Peabody Entrepreneur Tom Lyons Enters Race for the 13th Essex District

PEABODY – Tom Lyons, a Peabody entrepreneur and community volunteer, is entering the upcoming 2014 Race for State Representative in the 13th Essex District as a Republican Candidate and will formally announce his candidacy Thursday, February 13, at Supino’s Restaurant, located at 250 Newbury Street in Danvers, at 7:00 p.m. with Gubernatorial Candidate Charlie Baker in attendance.

Tom is a native of the district, having been raised in Danvers and graduating from Danvers High School in 1981. He and his wife Carolyne, reside in West Peabody with their son, where they are active in the community.

Tom is a licensed Master Plumber, Construction Supervisor and Oil Burner Technician. He started his own plumbing company at nineteen and took over the family owned business, C.K. Lyons Plumbing & Heating Co. in 1986. Tom is currently an Inside Sales Representative at the Peabody Supply Co, where he has worked since August 2003. In addition, Tom’s dedication to the community led him to join the Civil Air Patrol in 1977. He currently holds the rank of Lt. Colonel and is serving as the Commander of the Beverly Composite Squadron at Beverly Airport. Under his leadership, the squadron has trained over two hundred cadets in leadership and aerospace education. They have received two awards of distinction for their youth leadership programs and service to the community. In 2001, Tom achieved a lifelong goal of getting his pilots license and flies as a volunteer aircrew member on search and rescue missions.

Tom is committed to empowering the families and residents of Danvers, Middleton and Peabody and to turning the 13th Essex into job a creation hub through the enactment of state level policies that will complement the municipal advantages the district already has.
