An Evening with Reverend Oliver F. Williams at Marian Court College

As part of its 50th Anniversary Speaker Series, Marian Court College will host an evening with Reverend Oliver F. Williams, associate professor of management at the University of Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business and director for the university's Center for Ethics and Religious Values in Business.

Rev. Williams will be addressing the question "Can you do well while doing good?" using examples such as Microsoft, Anglo American, Coca-Cola and Merck, he will discuss how it is possible for a business manager to exhibit superior performance in business and yet be a model of virtue and ethical values.

A former naval officer, Rev. Williams is an alumnus of Notre Dame and served as the university's associate provost from 1987 to 1994.  He is also a past chair of the Social Issues Division of the Academy of Management.  In 2006, he was appointed a member of the three-person board of directors at the United Nations Global Compact Foundation.  His areas of expertise include business ethics, corporate governance and Catholic social teaching.  He is the editor or author of 15 books and has served as a visiting professor at the University of Cape Town in Africa and Kyung Hee University in Korea.

Marian Court is partnering with the Notre Dame Club of Greater Boston to host Rev. Williams, who is a speaker for the Notre Dame Alumni Association's 2014 Hesburgh Lecture Series.
