Peabody and Other North Shore Residents Ride for a Cure Sunday

Today is Thursday, May 16. Here are five things to know today in Peabody.

  1. Ride for a cure: There are 12 Peabody residents biking to support the work of the American Diabetes Association in the annual North Shore Tour de Cure on Sunday. The ride starts off from the Topsfield Fairgrounds.
  2. Joel Saslaw is formally kicking off his campaign for the Ward 5 seat on the City Council tonight (6:30 p.m.) at Toscana's. Saslaw is running against Bob Croce for the seat as longtime councilor Dave Gamache steps down from the council after this year.
  3. Free health fair: Lahey Health is sponsoring a free health fair for seniors at the Torigian Life Center tomorrow from 8:30-11:30 a.m. No pre-registration required and all screenings are free.
  4. Dance, dance, dance: The Higgins citywide fifth grade dance is this Friday at 6:30 p.m.
  5. Don't forget GreenFest: This year's GreenFest will be held at the Brown School on Saturday from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. You can find more details here.
