Midday Gusts to 50 mph Could Cause Power Outages, Downed Trees
Strong wind gusts are forecasted for late morning to midday Friday along with a storm moving through the area that was a blizzard in the midwest.
Strong, gusty winds may cause power outages on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
In an updated Wind Advisory message Friday morning, the weather service said that the highest risk for strong winds and power outages would be across the Cape and Islands. The North Shore, however, and the rest of the coast is still under the advisory.
The winds are expected to blow at 15 to 25 miles per hour with gusts up to 50 miles per hour, with the strongest gusts between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Friday.

"Winds of this magnitude could down trees limbs and branches, leading to scattered power outages,” the weather service said.
The advisory remains in effect until 3 p.m.
