5 Things You Need to Know Today, Oct. 9

Are you registered to vote on Election Day, will you need an absentee ballot? Here's what you need to know.

Today is Tuesday, Oct. 9. Here are five things to know today in Peabody.

  1. Trash and recycling: Regular pickup begins today, as it was delayed due to the Monday holiday.
  2. School Committee: The Peabody School Committee is scheduled to hold its regular session tonight at the Kiley School at 7:30 p.m.
  3. Parent-Teacher Conferences at Higgins Middle School are scheduled for two time slots this Thursday: 12:30-2:30 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
  4. If you'd like to be an exhibitor at the Higgins PTO Craft Fair on Oct. 20, get your forms in now.
  5. The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 6 general election is Oct. 17. If you know you'll be out of town on Election Day, you can receive an absentee ballot from the City Clerk's office. Here's what you need to know.
