Where to Dine Outdoors Around Peabody

It's summer time — a perfect season to take advantage of outdoor dining options.

The in Peabody offers outside seating for about 100 people. It's seasonal, so make sure the snow has melted before heading over. If the temperature cools, there are heaters to make sure customers are comfortable, said manager Andrea Campbell.

Joe's American Bar and Grill likewise has an outside patio that seats six to eight tables. To keep cool from the sun, there's an awning.

At there's a patio with a waterfall and a small garden. “It's a more relaxed atmosphere,” said manager Terri. “They tend to sit outside for longer.”

The area will be open through September and October if the weather allows. Get there a little earlier, because sometimes there's a wait for outside tables, said Terri. To keep cool from the sun, the tables are fitted with umbrellas.

At The Hardcover in Danvers people enjoy the patio because there’s a sense of privacy, said Bruce Canario, the general manager. “It’s all fenced in,” Canario said. “People like it out there.” For a little reprieve from the sun, the tables have umbrellas. It keeps you from getting too hot.

And if you want to enjoy a nice frozen yogurt and spend sometime outdoors in Danvers, check out the Daily Harvest Cafe. There’s a nice fountain on the patio, said Kaitlin McQuire, who does a little bit of everything at the restaurant.

Salem has many places that offer outside dining. At the Lobster Shanty, most customers prefer the outside area. During the week, the area seats eight tables, but on weekend nights and Sunday afternoons it serves 16 tables. Get there while you can, because come October it’s no longer an option because of the weather, said Sarah Stellato, front of the house manager.

At Capt’s Waterfront Grill & Pub, the second floor deck provides some fun in the sun. The deck overlooks the water and busser Eric Yonkus said, “It’s the best view on the waterfront.”

Sylvia Kaufman, a server at Victoria Station, believes the best waterfront view in Salem, however, is where she works. It looks out onto Pickering Wharf and lets customer unwind and relax.

If you’re tired of staring at the ocean, check out Rockafellas. Bartender extraordinaire Greg Racine has been working there for almost four years and calls the patio the best area for people-watching. There’s full bar service outside, Ravine said.

For a more private area check out Grapevine. According to host Rot Barrientos, the patio area is covered by trees and flowers. “People love it,” Barrientos said. “You have a little area just for you and your family to talk. It almost feels like home.”

While the outside dining options may currently be limited, there is hope on the horizon. Both Peabody eateries Brothers Kouzina and Santarpios, both located on Route 1 North, have taken out permits to build outdoor patios where patrons can eat and drink. Construction has yet to begin, but keep an eye out!

Less than a month after it opened, Buffalo Wild Wings is bringing the heat outside in Danvers. The restaurant, in the former home of Vinny T’s at the Liberty Tree Mall, has recently opened a patio. Have you tried the wings? Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
