Where to Buy the New iPhone 5 in Peabody

The next generation of the Apple smartphone was unveiled last week at a company launch party and pre-orders with wireless carriers Verizon, AT&T and Sprint began on Friday.

The iPhone 5 itself doesn't hit stores until this Friday, but in the meantime, you can read up on it here.

The new iPhone is thinner and lighter than the last two generations, but it is taller to accommodate a bigger screen. Apple says its processing speed is much faster than its predecessors, as well.

The iPhone 5 starts at $649, but the price can come down to as low as $200 with a cellular plan subscription.

There are a number of local stores where you can buy the new smartphone, although all stores may not stock the iPhone 5 immediately. It officially goes on sale Sept. 21 at 8 a.m.
