In the mood for a Chinese or Vietnamese dinner? Why not try ? According to manager Kevin Lin, the most popular dishes are the Vietnamese noodle soups. He said customers prefer the Seafood Phở. It's a mixture of seafood with bean sprouts, onions, cilantro and rice noodles in a light broth. If you're in the mood to eat at home, Sugar Cane provides take out. But why not dine at the restaurant? “We have a very lovely dining room,” Lin said.

specializes in Chinese food. Manager Yanny Zhu said the favored fish is General Tso’s Chicken. Zhu said the dish can be a bit spicy. Opened under new management for almost a year, the restaurant has a dining area and offers delivery and take out. Another favorite are the Crab Rangoons, a fried pocket of perfection filled with cream cheese and crab meat, Zhu said. They also serve Thai cuisine, but Zhu said customers prefer Chinese because there is more variety.

If you’re really hungry, Salem’s East Sakura Chinese and Sushi Buffet at 400 Highland Ave. offers all-you-can-eat dining, all the time. The restaurant was formerly Mandarin Buffet. With eight different bars to choose from the selections are endless, said manager Alex Lee. Lee could not decide on what customers preferred the most because of the large variety. There's a sushi bar, salad bar, two seafood bars and much more. Lee said one of the great things about East Sakura is its schedule. It doesn't close between lunch and dinner. "We want to provide the customer the time they need to eat," Lee said. There are about 100 dishes to choose from. Some of the choices are chicken wings, General Gao chicken, Crab Rangoons, noodles and crab meatballs. Oysters are also served, but only in the evening. Lunch is from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. for $8.99. Dinner begins at 3 p.m. for $13.99.

East Sakura has been open under its new name less than a year, but if it’s tradition you're in the mood for, check out Fortune Island. Open for 35 years, customers agree that the General Gao chicken is the best plate, the restaurant said. You can choose to eat inside or if you’re in the mood to stay in, Fortune Island does deliver. is another local restaurant with a sushi bar and full Chinese menu. The restaurant has entertainment on weekend nights and a full liquor license.

Danvers

The most popular dish at  in Danvers Square is the combination appetizer platter said manager Ben Ng. It comes with Chicken Fingers, Beef Teriyaki, Chicken Wings and Crab Rangoons. People usually choose that with an order of fried rice, Ng said. Hong Kong has been in business for almost 10 years and its ingredients are local, according to Ng.

Lynnfield

in Lynnfield serves Polynesian and Cantonese cuisine. One of the most popular dishes is the PuPu Platter, which comes with an assortment of choices. Bali Hai steak is also a preferred choice, it's served in a type of brown sauce, management said. If you're in the mood for seafood, there’s also the seafood platter and lobster specials. There is take out and a dining area with a bar where Bartender Lester Yee serves up exotic cocktails. A crowd favorite, he said, is the Mai Thai scorpion bowl. A small is 22 ounces and the bigger size is 64 ounces. After enjoying your dinner, you can stop by the game room, complete with a pool table and dartboard.
