'Taste of the North Shore' to Fund Cancer Research

Event will kick-off 21st annual North Shore Cancer Walk.

The North Shore Medical Center will hold its second annual “Taste of the North Shore” even on Wednesday, April 6 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Peabody. Proceeds from this event will benefit the 21st annual North Shore Cancer Walk — the largest single-day fundraising event on the North Shore of Massachusetts. The Walk, which has raised more than $16 million since its inception in 1990, will be held this year on Sunday, June 26 in Salem.

Acura of Peabody will host the “Taste of the North Shore” in its showroom and will feature generous food samples donated by local restaurants and caterers including Finz, Red Rock Bistro & Bar, Pellana Steakhouse, Henry’s, Capt’s Waterfront Grill, Treadwell’s ice cream, McKinnon’s, The Party Specialist, Cape Ann Brewing Compant, 63 Restaurant and Wine Bar, Salem Waterfront Hotel, and Victoria Station. Live and silent auction items include a house rental in Jamaica, Red Sox vs. Yankee tickets, sports memorabilia, gift baskets, spa packages, and much more.

“Last year this event sold out, and was a huge success.  This is a great way to get people excited about the North Shore Cancer Walk,” said Roselyn Fisher, special events manager for North Shore Medical Center. “For many people, the Walk is not just a one-day event, but something they would like to support year-round. We are fortunate that so many restaurants from across the North Shore are participating in this event.”
