Irate Cafe Owners Claim Sandler Didn’t Pay Up

The owners of the Little Italy Cafe on Main Street are accusing Adam Sandler and his production company of stiffing them out of $2,500 on a catering bill.

You may have seen this sign posted in a store window: “ADAM SANDLER ATE HERE AND NEVER PAID.”

It has now been replaced with the following: “ADAM LIED ABOUT US. WE COOKED FOR HIM AND HE NEVER PAID.”

The accusations were prominently displayed by the owners of the in their storefront window on Main Street shortly after the scenes for the upcoming comedy, "I Hate You, Dad."

George Meehan and his sister, who also operate the catering business Taste of Italy, told celebrity news site TMZ that the actor's production company, Happy Madison Productions, had asked them to stock up for two barbecues for the cast and crew, which cost about $2,500 on the grocery bill. Meehan says the company never called back and wouldn't pay the bill.

Meehan said they had made an initial deal to cater a meal for the cast and crew, which went off without a hitch.

TMZ spoke with representatives from Sandler's production company who said there were never any promises about catering further meals, and that Sandler did not in fact eat at the restaurant.
