Get Your Fresh Produce Now in Front of City Hall

The Tuesday farmers market has moved across the street to City Hall.

The market is on the move...again.

Peabody city officials say that "in an effort to boost visibility and foot traffic during the busy autumn selling season," the Tuesday Farmers Market is moving across the street from the over to the lawn in front of . The Sept. 4 market will be held at the new location.

Mayor Ted Bettencourt's office announced the change last week.

“This is an exciting development in terms of the farmers market and also in terms of creating a great fall atmosphere right outside of City Hall,” Bettencourt said. “People love to be outdoors during the months of September and October and nothing beats fresh locally grown produce, especially when it is available so close to home.”

The market's home for nine years was in the Railroad Avenue parking lot, .

Rain is in the forecast throughout the day for Tuesday, but if that doesn't put a damper on your plans, the market does boast produce, lobster, fresh eggs and handmade jewelry.

The Tuesday vendors are as follows:

  • Iron Moon Farm of Newbury
  • Marshall Farm of Gloucester
  • Capt Pete’s Lobsters
  • Jewelry by Liza

A free shuttle to the market for seniors is also available from the Peabody Council on Aging thanks to funding by the Peabody Community Development Authority. Here's the schedule:
