Frotopia Opening Soon on Route 114

Right as summer gets into full swing, local fro-yo lovers should have yet another option to indulge their appetites.

Frotopia Yogurt, over on Route 114 in the Walgreens plaza next to Qdoba, will be the latest self-serve frozen yogurt shop to open in Peabody. Yo'Gut Style opened just last month on Lowell Street and Zinga! Peabody opened on Lynnfield Street in March.

Paul Hamel, a local optometrist and co-owner of the new shop, says Frotopia should be open toward the end of June. "The word is getting out and we are receiving a big welcome," he said.

And just down the road, Top It Your Way Yogurt Bar is open six days a week at 85 Andover St. in Danvers while Fruitberry is located inside the Northshore Mall. Orange Leaf is also right in the heart of Danvers Square.

Hamel says that in addition to the 16 flavors and more than 50 toppings that will be available, Frotopia will be serving up fruit smoothies, coffee, desserts and a "Frotopia Swirl," which is a blend of your favorite toppings into your chosen yogurt flavor.

He says many of the flavors include gluten-free, non-fat, low-fat, no sugar added or dairy-free options, and are low in calories.

"Frotopia Yogurt is self-serve to encourage folks to have fun and get creative," he said. "With all these delectable options, there are endless combination possibilities to create your own healthy treat; your only limit is your imagination.”

The space at 229 Andover St. will also have Wi-Fi available for customers and contain two function rooms for birthday parties, business meetings or other private gatherings.
