The Container Store says it will be creating about 80 jobs for the Peabody area and donating 10 percent of its weekend sales to the Boston Children's Museum.

The Container Store, which is slated to open at the on Oct. 20, says it will be donating 10 percent of its sales over its opening weekend to the Boston Children's Museum.

The national chain, which only has two locations in Massachusetts other than the new Peabody store, says it will be adding about 80 jobs to the community and it's still looking for "neat people" to apply online. The company says it may be adding two more stores eventually to the Greater Boston market.

The Container Store opened its first specialty retail store in 1978 in Dallas, Texas and now has stores coast to coast, selling every kind, shape and size of storage container imaginable (plastic or otherwise) and organizational solutions for the home and office. The company also offers online shopping.

The Peabody store occupies 24,000 square feet at the front corner of the mall () and will feature more than 10,000 multi-functional and innovative products. Products are organized in 16 categories, such as closet, kitchen, office, travel, gift packaging and laundry. Customers will also be able to take advantage of free elfa design services.
