Container Store 'Super Fan' Gets VIP Treatment on Opening Day

The new storage solution store at the Northshore Mall opens Saturday.

Opening day has finally arrived for The Container Store, and no one is probably more excited than one local fan who will receive the VIP treatment.

A company spokesperson said "North Shore Super Fan" Leslie Aznoian of North Andover was identified in a Facebook contest and on Saturday will get the first place in line, a special Super Fan shopping cart, a package of organization necessities and an actual receiving line by 60 store employees.

The new Peabody store at the Northshore Mall officially opens at 9 a.m. and is the sixth location to open in 2012 (it's the 58th store overall). The company will also be donating 10 percent of its sales over its opening weekend to the Boston Children's Museum.

Store hours are 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Sunday. Weekday hours will also be 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.

The national chain, which only has two locations in Massachusetts other than the new Peabody store, says it will be adding about 80 jobs to the community. The company says it may be adding two more stores eventually to the Greater Boston market.

The Container Store opened its first specialty retail store in 1978 in Dallas, Texas and now has stores coast to coast, selling every kind, shape and size of storage container imaginable (plastic or otherwise) and organizational solutions for the home and office. The company also offers online shopping.

The Peabody store occupies 24,000 square feet at the front corner of the mall (where Bugaboo Creek used to be) and will feature more than 10,000 multi-functional and innovative products.

Products are organized in 16 categories, such as closet, kitchen, office, travel, gift packaging and laundry. Customers will also be able to take advantage of free elfa design services.
