A Little Bit of Paradise: TL Massage

Patch Passport shows you a Little Bit of Paradise. This is a local place where you can feel like you are a million miles away from the daily stress of life, without having to go far from home. Come along and relax...

Stress has become so ingrained in society that consumers are constantly searching for ways to lessen its negative effects on their health. But with financial stressors in a challenging economy on the rise, relaxing is easier said than done.

One reliable, accessible and affordable solution that seems to be gaining momentum is massage therapy. An experienced massage therapist is trained in methods to reduce the ill effects of stress on both mind and body.

TL Massage Therapy, located in a cozy second-floor unit at the Central Street Village plaza in Peabody, is seeing more and more clients coming in for treatment, rather than just to purchase gift certificates, says owner Tricia L’Abbe.

L’Abbe, a Master Medical Massage Professional and Arthritis Interventionist, was born and raised in Peabody. After more than five years of practicing as a massage therapist in the area, L'Abbe decided to open her own practice in her native city of Peabody in 2010.

“I began my career after seeking out massage therapy as treatment for myself in 2001, after repeat illness from stress,” said L’Abbe. “I was finding that I could finally manage my stress levels, and the results were incredible.”

L’Abbe left a high-stress, high-paying job in the recruiting industry to enter the health and wellness industry for massage therapy.

“I am seeing a lot of patients in the same situation I was in then,” added L'Abbe. “My main goal is a larger facility in the same building by next year, with a senior clinic offering discounted prices.”

TL Massage Therapy offers first time clients an introductory one-hour massage for $45, as well as discounted “loyalty” programs. L’Abbe said most of her business is by appointment, although she does accept some same day calls.

Massage styles include Swedish, therapeutic, medical, sports, pregnancy and corporate chair, which is actually performed on-site at business offices, trade shows, conferences or other events.

Another wellness service offered here is body bronzing, a healthier alternative to tanning booths to get a summer glow, to look better and hopefully feel better.

L’Abbe employs two additional massage practitioners at her facility, one a nationally recognized and certified massage therapist and the other a “relaxation” specialist.

You can find TL Massage Therapy at 47-49 Central St. or online or on Facebook.
