Where/When: Memorial Building; Friday, 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 2 p.m.

Why Go: The growing North of Boston Arts Center debuts with its first original prodiction "Magic Fruit: The Tale of a Real Smoothie." There are three shows planned in the auditorium at the Memorial building on Friday night and Saturday and Sunday afternoon. The play was written by North of Boston Arts Center founder and artistic director Bonnie Rynkowski based on the story of Mozart’s classic opera “The Magic Flute.” Cast members come from Beverly, Peabody, Topsfield, Salem and Danvers and range in age from 6-year-old to adults.

2. PLANT SALE

Where/When: Buker Elementary School, Wenham; Friday, 2-4 p.m. and Saturday, 8-11:30 a.m.

Why Go: If you have not gotten your garden going this spring, here is your chance. Or maybe you'll be grabbing mom some flowers for Mother's Day. There will be pansies and impatiens available plus window-box vines, hydrangeas and even tomatoes.

3. POWER OF PINK MOTHER'S DAY WALK

Where/When: Lt. Ross Park, Peabody; Sunday, 9 a.m.

Why Go: The Flip Flop Friends will host their third annual "Power of Pink Mother's Day Walk" on Sunday. The walk is a six-mile out-and-back on the Peabody Independence Greenway. Registration for the event begins at 8:30 a.m. All proceeds will go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure to support breast cancer research.

Pricing: $5 per student, $10 per adult and $25 per family

4. ONEFUND CLASSES AT BARRE N9NE

Where/When: barre n9ne, Danvers; Saturday, 7:30-11:45 a.m.

Why Go: barre n9ne will be holding free OneFund fitness classes all morning at 9 Page St. All classes are free, but participants are asked to make a $15 donation per class. All proceeds will go to The One Fund Boston to support the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing. barre n9ne will also match all donations up to $3,000.

Pricing: Suggested donation of $15

5. 'JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR'

Where/When: North Shore Music Theater, Saturday, 7 p.m.

Why Go: See Voices of Hope, a group of 100 performers who have all been affected by cancer and donate their time, perform Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar. Proceeds benefit the Termeer Center for Targeted Therapies at Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center.
