Peabody Firefighter Turned Actor Stars in Duracell Commercial

A former Peabody firefighter is continuing a successful acting career playing the role of a firefighter or EMS official.

A now former Peabody firefighter with a budding acting career was recently featured in a Duracell commercial as what else? A firefighter.

The Salem News caught up recently with Peabody native Kevin Pasdon, the son of Fire Chief Steve Pasdon, to talk about his new career out on the West Coast, following his true passion: acting.

Perhaps ironically, the 28-year-old Pasdon has landed a variety of roles in movies and commercials as fire and medical personnel, in addition to other roles, he tells the Salem News. He most recently starred in a Duracell commercial featuring him as a firefighter.

Kevin Pasdon, who comes from generations of Peabody firefighters, joined the department in 2007 as a full-time firefighter and took acting classes, bit parts and work as a production medic in his spare time. He formally resigned last year and moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting full-time.

Chief Pasdon admitted he initially thought it was risky move to leave a secure job and career for an industry that has a reputation for just the opposite. But, he told Peabody Patch, he's since changed his mind.

"[Kevin] is doing well for himself," he said, adding his son has agents he works regularly with and has landed some good jobs while continuing to work as a production medic.
