What's Open, Closed on Veterans Day in Peabody

Liquor stores, supermarkets and most retail stores are open today, but government offices, public buildings and banks are closed. Trash and recycling pickup is delayed one day.

November 11 has been celebrated as Veterans Day since 1954 to honor all men and women who have served in the U.S. military. The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month was originally commemorated as Armistice Day to mark the cessation of hostilities in World War I in 1918.
