Heavy Rain Could Cause Flooding on Tuesday

Already high rivers may overflow on Tuesday.

Heavy rain Monday night through Tuesday may cause flooding and make the Tuesday morning commute difficult.

The National Weather Service is predicting at least 1 inch of rain to fall overnight and into Tuesday with some areas getting as much as 1 ½ inches.

Though the rainfall won’t match the totals we saw during last week’s rains, the National Weather Service said flooding is possible because many rivers are still running high. Street flooding is possible especially in areas with poor drainage.

High winds are expected with the rain. Gusts of between 30 and 40 mph are predicted, which means downed limbs and power lines are possible overnight and into Tuesday.
