Farmers' Market Kicks Off in July

The city is looking to add new food vendors, farmers, artists/crafters, musicians and volunteers.

Get ready to enjoy the sunshine, the heat and the fruit. It's almost time for the Peabody Farmers' Market.

The 12th annual Farmers' Market will open on Tuesday, July 15 and run every Tuesday through mid- to late-October. The market will be open from 1 to 6 p.m. across from Peabody City Hall, 24 Lowell St. The vendors will set up along Lowell and Chestnut streets, said Peabody Mayor Ted Bettencourt.

Penny and Peter Srybny of Hereford Valley Farm in Andover will return for the 12th straight season. They will offer fresh tomatoes, corn, cucumbers, pickling cucumbers, zucchini, summer squash, lettuce, a variety of beans, basil, pea pods and many other varieties of locally grown fruits and vegetables, according to the mayor.

The mayor said:

"Additional vendors this year include All Fruit Inc. (all natural dried fruits and nuts), Eventide Confections and Scented Angel Luxurious Bath products. Julia Spinella of Go with the Flow will also be at the market July 15 and 22 and Aug. 15. She will be selling original designed mermaid T-shirts.
