Christmas and the Clauses Come to Main Street

Santa and Mrs. Claus were greeted by a crowd of excited youngsters and their families outside the Main Branch Library Saturday morning for Peabody's 30th annual holiday festival.

The jolly old couple still arrived by fire truck this year, but the location is normally down at City Hall. Ongoing construction and roof repairs, however, necessitated a different location.

This year's event was also sponsored by the Peabody Downtown Association.

The Peabody High Chorale led the crowd in singing some holiday classics before the Clauses arrival.

Santa and Mrs. Claus strolled up Main Street with children in tow to the Knights of Columbus Hall for photos after arriving at the library.
