Today is Monday, Nov. 26. Here are five things to know today in Peabody.

  1. It's Cyber Monday, are you doing any online shopping today?
  2. Tryouts start today for Peabody High Tanners ice hockey at the McVann-O'Keefe Rink from 2:15-3:35 p.m. The season officially starts for the Tanners Dec. 19 at Winthrop. Check out the team website for more information.
  3. Interested in rock climbing indoors? The Peabody Recreation Department will be kicking off its climbing club this year Wednesday over at the MetroRock in Newburyport. The club will meet weekly from 6-8 p.m. through March 27 and includes instruction and all the equipment needed for climbing indoors. Climbers of all ability levels are welcome. The club is open to students in grades 7-12. Register online here.
  4. The Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner is Wednesday night and state Senator-elect Joan Lovely will be the keynote speaker. Treadwell's Ice Cream owner and city councilor Tom Gould will also be receiving this year's Harry Ankeles award at the dinner.
  5. Coming up this weekend, the city will hold its annual holiday concerts on Saturday and Sunday. There's dinner and a show.
