Brooksby Village to Host Open House, Arts and Crafts Fair

Brooksby Village will host an open house and arts and crafts fair Saturday, Nov. 2, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Visitors will have the opportunity to tour apartments and get an inside look at retirement living at Brooksby Village.

There will also be 30 crafters, some of who live and work at Brooksby Village, displaying and selling their handmade jewelry, paintings, holiday items, soaps, scarves, water colors, glass work, knitted items and more.

Fifteen percent of the proceeds from the vendors will be donated to The Brooksby Village Scholarship Fund, a fund for student employees who plan to attend a college or accredited trade school beginning in the fall of 2014.

Students become eligible for the Brooksby Village Scholarship by completing 1,000 hours of work at Brooksby Village over a consecutive two-year period.

There will also be a raffle and hot dogs for sale.

WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 2 --Open House, 9:30 a.m. - noon; Arts and Crafts Fair, 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

The open house is free, but there is a $1 admission fee to the arts and crafts fair to benefit scholarship fund.
