Another Leavitt Picks up an Award
A day after his cousin Keith gave a verbal agreement to Penn State, Tyler Leavitt was named as Little East Pitcher of the Year for Division Three College Baseball. Tyler is the third-straight Southern Maine pitcher to be selected as top in the league, and the fifth overall. The sophomore southpaw from North Andover, Mass. earned a conference-best seven wins this year, with an overall record of 7-3 and conference slate of 5-1. He was a strikeout force, fanning 25 batters in LEC play and 29 on the season to average 6.38 Ks a game. By holding opponents to only 16 earned runs in 55 innings, he owned a 2.62 ERA for the entirety of the 2014 regular season and a 1.77 mark in league contests. This season’s honors are the first for Leavitt as a Husky.
Keith and Tyler are the grandsons to Legendary Woburn High School Pitcher Jim Leavitt and the sons of Peabody High and Salem State Athletes Keith and Kyle Leavitt.
