Volunteers Needed to Visit Homebound Seniors in Peabody

Here's what you need to know today in Peabody.

Today is Thursday, Sept. 19. Here are five things to know today in Peabody.

  1. The Peabody Council on Aging is looking for volunteers to visit homebound seniors in Peabody. Volunteers are asked to stop by a for a visit an hour a week and call a few times for a friendly chat.
  2. The Peabody High drama club Stage One will host a talent show Saturday (7 p.m.) in the school auditorium. Tickets are $5.
  3. Click your heels and celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Wizard of Oz this Saturday at the Northshore Mall. The event is hosted by the Simon Kidgits Club and there will be various activities for kids. The film will be released Friday in IMAX theaters in 3D.
  4. You can also recycle your styrofoam at Lifoam Industries Saturday morning. More details here.
  5. Zumba over to the D&A Fitness Studio Saturday for a master class session to benefit the National Brain Tumor Society.
