Teen Poetry Slam and Halloween Parties Today

Here's what you need to know today in Peabody.

Today is Tuesday, Oct. 29. Here are five things to know today in Peabody.

  1. Peabody teens show off their talents in a teen poetry slam Tuesday night at the Peabody Institute Library. The slam will take place in the Sutton Room at the Main Branch.
  2. The Boo Bash at the Northshore Mall is scheduled for Tuesday, starting at 4:30 p.m. in the Nordstrom wing of the mall.
  3. Mall Tots at Play over at the Liberty Tree Mall is holding its own Halloween party Tuesday (noon to 4 p.m.) for kids age five and under. There will be candy, crafts, a real-life pirate on the pirate ship, a raffle, cookie decorating, a scarecrow-building contest, music and more. Pay $6 for each kid and adults with kids get in for free.
  4. Also on Tuesday, it's a Nightmare on Main Street -- trick or treating at downtown businesses starts at 5:30 p.m.
  5. On Friday, you can get a free safety check on your car seat at Boston Children's Hospital Peabody at 10 Centennial Dr. (1-4 p.m.).
