How Was Your First Day at School?

Here's what you need to know today in Peabody.

Today is Wednesday, Sept. 4. Here are five things to know today in Peabody.

  1. School is off and running in Peabody with Tuesday being the first day back for students. Don't forget you can also share your back-to-school photos right here.
  2. The preschool at Temple Beth Shalom is holding an open house Wednesday, starting at 9 a.m.
  3. In like news, the New Beginnings preschool over at St. Thomas is holding an orientation for pupils and parents on Thursday morning.
  4. Local author Sandra Champlain, who penned the bestseller "We Don't Die - A Skeptic's Discovery of Life After Death," will be speaking and signing books at Barnes & Noble Thursday evening.
  5. The Peabody Police Department also reminds motorists to watch for children who are walking to and from school, now that classes have started again. Police say they will aggressively enforce speed limits in school zones as well as dealing with vehicles parked on sidewalks and vehicles passing school buses when stop signals are activated.
