30th International Festival This Weekend and Schools Back in Session
Here's what you need to know today in Peabody.
Today is Tuesday, Sept. 3. Here are some things to know today in Peabody.
- It's almost here. The 30th International Festival celebration in Peabody Square is slated for this coming Sunday, Sept. 8. You can find more details on the agenda here. In case of rain, the festival will be held on Sept. 22 instead.
- To kick things off for this year's festival, the We Are America performers are giving a live concert (for free) at City Hall Friday night (7 p.m.) called "United We Stand."
- And then on Saturday morning, the 12th Annual International Race for Research put on the Progeria Research Foundation takes to the city streets. Pre-registration closes on Friday at 10 a.m., but you can still register the day of.
- Starting on Sunday, the sixth year of Peabody Restaurant Week begins and lasts through Sept. 12 before picking up again for Sept. 19-22. You can find more details at www.peabodyinternationalfestival.com.

- The annual fall athletics meeting at Peabody High for athletes, parents and coaches is Tuesday night in the PVMHS auditorium (6:30 p.m.). Sports user fees will be collected at the meeting as well.
