**Opening exhibition takes place at the Peabody Historical Society's Cassidy Museum, 33 Washington Street, Peabody.

Explore the evolution of women's gender roles from the Victorian to the modern era and the part Peabodywomen played in this transformation in From the Bustle to the Hustle: 150 Years of Women's History inPeabody. The exhibit will feature costumes, literature, artwork, and domestic artifacts that highlight important moments in women's history, as well as personal items belonging to such influential Peabody women as suffragist Mary Upton Ferrin, horticulturalist Bessie Buxton, and WWII photographer Virginia Carten. Nov. 25 - April 21, 2013. 

The Peabody Art Association's popular Annual Holiday Art and Craft Show features paintings, photographs, crafts and other gift items priced at $100 or less. Nov. 25 - Jan. 20, 2013.

The Cassidy Museum is open Tues-Fri, 10-3 pm and 1st & 3rd Sun. of every month, 12-3 pm.

The Peabody Historical Society and Museum consists of several properties and collections that help residents and visitors alike trace Peabody's rich cultural past over a 300-year period. Guided tours are provided for several of the group's historic properties, which include the home of Revolutionary War soldier Gen. Gideon Foster on Washington Street and the Felton-Smith historic site. The group also operates the Cassidy Museum that contains many paintings, furniture, and other historic items.
