The following are excerpts from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from Nov. 8-9.

Thursday, Nov. 8

• 2:28 p.m. Charles W. Mason, 53, of 54 Granite St., Peabody, was arrested at his home for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, following a report of a domestic incident.
• 3:34 p.m. An employee at Tedeschi Food Shops on Main Street reported a store window was smashed the night before.
• 5:02 p.m. A caller on Jacobs Street reported a past home burglary. Police said the suspect came in through a window and several items were missing from the house.
• 6:55 p.m. A caller on Summit Terrace reported she found a yellow envelope hanging on the front door of her residence with a yellow note that said to call BOA (Bank of America) at 800-664-0102. When she called that number she was asked for her account number or Social Security number, neither of which she gave out. She checked at a Bank of America branch and was told that it was fraudulent activity and not the bank.
• 9:31 p.m. A caller reported a car break-in outside the West Congregational Church. The driver's side window was smashed and a leopard-print purse was stolen.
• 10:04 p.m. John M. Gil, 64, of 3 McIntyre Ct., Peabody, was arrested, following a motor vehicle stop on Pierpont Street. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and a marked lanes violation.
• 10:29 p.m. A caller reported a car break-in on Main Street. A rear window was smashed and the thief made off with a diaper bag worth $30.
• 10:42 p.m. A caller on Tracey Street reported a past burglary at his home. The man said some items were missing from the house.

Friday, Nov. 9

• 6:38 a.m. Police recovered a vehicle stolen out of Boston after a caller reported a blue 2006 Chrysler 300 was sitting in a median on Centennial Drive.
• 12:50 p.m. Police received a report of a tire near the Civil War Monument in Peabody Square. DPS was notified to pick up the tire.
