U.S. Postal Service Carrier Crashes Through Cemetery Fence

Peabody man transported to Salem Hospital.

A U.S. Postal Service carrier was involved in a single vehicle accident Thursday morning when his mail van veered off Washington Street and crashed through a cemetery fence.

According to Peabody Police, the accident happened just before 12 noon at 243 Washington St. near the Eastman Gelatine plant. The mail carrier, a Peabody man, was transported by Atlantic Ambulance to Salem Hospital for treatment. The Post Office van was towed by Arrington's Towing. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
